The Owlet on the Orchid Island

Hua-Ren He is highly skilled in wood-engraving art. The delicate delicate use of colors in this book show the rare aestheticism of a printmaking book. The story begins with a "hoot" of an owlet. Shifting through the scenes, the owlet serenely embarks on the journey of life. By depicting the story through different perspectives and angles, this book allows readers to learn about the other characters in the story. The orchid and the owlet on the final page represent the author's deep concerns for these two endangered native species.
